The general objective of this study was to determine the relationship between working conditions and the performance of employees in family businesses in Metropolitan Lima, Peru. It was developed with a quantitative approach, an applied-descriptive and correlative level with non-experimental designs of cross sections. Additionally, the sample consisted of 45 family businesses in shopping centers in Metropolitan Lima, and two questionnaires were used as measurement tools. The first evaluates the perception of the working conditions offered by these companies and the second evaluates the job performance of the employee. Both instruments have passed the Cronbach’s Alpha reliability analysis process and have shown very high reliability. The results show that the employment situation and the work performance variable have a significant relationship. In addition, both have a relationship. The results of the inference show a bilateral significance value of 0.0001 < 0.05, which indicates that there is a relationship between the employment situation and the performance of employees in family businesses, and the coefficient correlation is 0.621, which indicates that the relationship between the two is moderate.
