Sending originals

Original research articles, which have not been submitted to another journal at the same time, will be emailed to the journal address rev.climatologia.new@gmail.com o contacto@rclimatol.eu to begin the “peer review” process.

Text, figures and style of references

The originals will preferably be sent as a single file in odt, doc or docx format, including the tables and figures in their most suitable position (normally, after their citation in the text). This document is the one that will be used during the review process, and it should be structured in the following sections:

Title (concise, but give an idea of ​​the content)
Authors’ names
Authors’ affiliations (and any contact e-mail)
Summary (most noteworthy aspects of the full article: motivation, methodology, results and conclusions. Around 10 or 12 lines should suffice)
Keywords
Abstract and keywords (translation of the two previous sections)
Introduction (problem to be solved, previous works that have addressed it, improvements to be achieved, …)
Methodology (data and methods used in this work, description of the geographical area studied if applicable, …; it can be broken down into subsections)
Results and discussion (presentation of the results, discussing their significance and their differences with respect to those obtained in previous works, …; it can be broken down into subsections)
Conclusions (brief review of the progress made with the work; you can propose future work on the same topic)
Acknowledgments (optional)
Bibliography (in alphabetical order, using standard journal abbreviations, and following the style examples below 🙂

a. Articles in magazines:
Gayà M (2005): Tornados in Spain (1987-2005): temporal and spatial distribution. Rev. Climatol., 5: 9-17.
b. Articles in conference proceedings:
Livingston RL, Shaefer JT (1993): County-by-county data on strong and violent tornadoes. Preprints of the 17th Conference on Severe Local Storms, St. Louis Amer. Meteor. Soc., Pp. 6-9.

All citations must be referenced in the bibliography, and all references must be cited in the text using the author’s name and the year of publication in parentheses. Example: Strong associated winds were described by Doswell (2001) and other authors (Shaefer and Livingston, 1993; Romero et al., 2005). Matching citations will be distinguished by adding a lowercase letter to the year of publication: Lyons and Olsson (1972a and 1972b).

Evaluation and review

The original will be evaluated by two reviewers chosen by the Editorial Committee (the authors may propose some for their consideration), who will issue a report on the scientific quality of the article and provide the appropriate comments. This will lead to reviews by the authors, who should consider the comments of the evaluators, following their advice or arguing appropriately. The original revised in this way must be sent again to the editor to decide on its acceptance.

Layout and publication

Once the article is accepted, it will proceed to its layout using the LaTeX processing system. Once layout, the article will be sent back to the authors for their final review (correction of typing or grammatical errors). The publication will take place immediately after its final acceptance.

Open access and copyright policy

This journal provides open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps a greater global exchange of knowledge.

The rights of the articles (copyright) belong to the authors, who implicitly allow their reproduction by any means as long as it is without economic interest and respecting their integrity. Therefore, they are published under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND license: They can be copied, used, disseminated, transmitted and publicly exhibited, provided that: i) the authorship and original source of their publication is cited; ii) are not used for commercial purposes; iii) the existence and specifications of this user license are mentioned.
