The purpose of this investigation was to study the criminal antisocial behaviors of people between 18 and 19 years old (male sex) who are deprived of their liberty in a penitentiary establishment in the city of Trujillo, in order to determine their relationship with parenting styles and family functioning. The research is of a quantitative approach, correlational level, basic type, non-experimental and cross-sectional design. There was a sample of 270 people deprived of their liberty, and for data collection the Parenting Styles Scale, Family Functioning Scale (FF-SIL) and the Criminal Antisocial Behavior Questionnaire (A-D) were applied. The main finding was that the antisocial and criminal behaviors of people who are in a penitentiary establishment have a non-significant inverse correlation with a trivial effect with parenting styles (r=-.059) and an inverse correlation with a small effect. and significant with family functionality (r=-.140); In this sense, there is evidence of a greater relationship of criminal antisocial behaviors with family functionality than with parenting styles.
