This article on sustainable development has increased in the 21st century, as a result of the concern of international organizations, social actors and society to have better living conditions in the period 2019-2020; however, the reality that is reflected in Latin American countries is worrisome due to the low level of development achieved in the economic, political, social and environmental spheres. The objective of this article was to analyze the main topics that investigate sustainable development in Latin America, which we ask ourselves, which can be disseminated in a scientific journal. The research was supported by a descriptive bibliographic review, using scientific articles as primary sources of information. The proposed study variable is Sustainable Development (SD). The bibliographic review was carried out in the databases: Scopus, Ebscohost, Scielo. The findings in the analyzed research considered: Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), in harmony with the Sustainable Development agenda, in which it maintains the obligation to move towards a more equitable and coherent society. The investigation concludes the argument supported by the researchers, a series of properties and factors associated with sustainable development have been pointed out. In the same way, it is necessary to highlight the significance of proposing alternatives that contribute to building sustainable development in Latin American countries.
