The aim of this article was to conduct a systematic review of the quality of service in public institutions. A documentary bibliographic methodology was used to collect pertinent information and evaluate relevant conceptual judgments associated with the topic. This review was developed through the analysis of several publications in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus and Scielo databases, recognized for their broad impact on the international scientific community. The study helped to identify the implication of the factors involved and their importance for the benefit of the population. The results highlighted the degree of systematization of the existing publications on the subject addressed in the databases considered.
