The objective of the study was to synthesize the scientific literature on the relationship between human talent management and job performance in public institutions. The study was basic with a systematic review design, and the PRISMA method was used to review and extract the articles to be considered to elaborate the results; therefore, the search in the Scielo, Scopus, Web of Science and PubMed databases allowed the selection of 20 articles for the review. Among the results, 95% of the articles studied the reality of South American countries, 50% presented a non-experimental design, 90% selected only the collaborators as participants and 100% used questionnaires to collect the information. Similarly, in 45% of the articles, management was efficient because the deficiencies presented were minimal and insignificant; in addition, 55% showed that the level of work performance was high because they performed their tasks appropriately and in a timely manner.
