The purpose of the study was to demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the flipped classroom teaching model in the development of autonomous learning in higher education students. It is a pre-experimental investigation with a sample of 28 students to whom a questionnaire was applied, validated by expert judgment and with a reliability of α=.883. The results show that in the pre-test, 100% of students are at a regular level; while in the post-test 54% reach a good level and 46% remain at the regular level. It is concluded that the efficiency and effectiveness of the flipped class influences the development of autonomous learning of students who self-regulate and assume responsibility for their learning.
