In summary, ethics is fundamental to the dignity of a magistrate within the civil service, since their ability to perform their role fairly and impartially in the judicial system is directly related to their ability to act with integrity and professionalism. Magistrates must maintain high ethical standards to preserve their own dignity and the integrity of the judicial system. Public ethics is essential for the proper functioning of the judicial system, and magistrates are one of the key actors in promoting an ethical culture in the administration of justice. Impartialité, integrity, responsibility and judicial independence are some of the ethical principles that should guide the professional performance of a magistrate in the judicial system.
