With the objective of constructing an instrument that allows the evaluation of the perception of obstetric medical violence PVMO in patients of a Trujillo Hospital, a 17-item questionnaire was designed, which was validated by expert judgment, with an adequate V of Aiken for each item (>0.83) and then applied to 100 patients, obtaining an internal consistency with Cronbach’s alpha of 0.783, for which it can be affirmed that it is a valid questionnaire. and reliable to use in the investigation of the obstetric violence construct. A conceptual model of Obstetric Violence is proposed as a polysemic, multidimensional, and multifactorial construct, which describes harmful behavior by health personnel, such as threats or injuries of different types, towards the pregnant patient in any of its stages: prenatal, natal and postnatal. It has been possible to find through exploratory factor analysis five dimensions called: physical, verbal, psychological, sexual and structural. This work should be complemented with studies in larger samples.
