The objective of the research was to determine features that electronic government presents in state and private institutions. Literature review methodology was used, for which 30 publications from high-impact databases were considered, predominantly scientific articles. The results show that electronic government is characterized by implementation stages, including: presence, interaction, transaction and transformation. In the same way, electronic government is constituted as a tool that facilitates the modernization of public management with a look at globalization and the new digital information society, which has a double dimension: that of a catalyst for change in the processes of administrative management and on the other hand, to be tools and technological instruments for the improvement of the acts of the state.
