Waiting times are variable in different countries and different health systems, however, they all try different ways to improve them either by regulations, decrees or laws. The objective of this research is to carry out a review of literature published between 2014-2023 on waiting time in care of patients in outpatient clinics in hospitals in Peru. Methodology used was systematic review of scientific literature related to waiting time in care of patients in outpatient clinics in hospitals in Peru in Scopus, Web of Sciences, and Scielo databases. Prisma guide was applied for selection of studies and Strobe to evaluate editorial and methodological quality. In initial search, 2,450 scientific articles were identified, of which 397 were screened included the variable waiting time in title or abstract, based on application of inclusion and exclusion criteria, 12 scientific publications were meta-analyzed.
