The objective of this review article was to analyze previous research on the occupation of public-recreational space and Spatial Fragmentation in the Peruvian coastal strip; bibliographic method be used to analyze scientific articles related to the topic, and under the qualitative approach. The scope of the research is descriptive and its design is non-experimental cross-sectional. Information was collected in databases such as Redalyc, Scopus, Ebsco and Alicia-Concytec. After the analysis of the information obtained, the main conclusion was that the occupation of the public-recreational space and the spatial fragmentation in the Peruvian coastal strip is deficient, mainly due to the non-existent specific regulations that allow the development of this process aligned to the norm of territorial ordering. Likewise, the little institutionality of the competent entities also makes this process difficult.
