The article aimed to present the levels of job satisfaction in the public administration in the INPE case. The methodology was a quantitative approach, basic type and descriptive-transversal approach. not experimental. The population was made up of 108 workers from the Penitentiary Security Area, to whom the job satisfaction questionnaire was applied (α=0.853). The results showed that the most critical levels were presented in the dimensions of Workload (42% low level) and intrinsic satisfaction (38% low level); At the same time, in general, the job satisfaction variable presented the following values: high (2%), medium (56%) and low (42%). With this information, it was concluded that job satisfaction in the public administration in the INPE case presents critical levels because employees perceive irregularities at work; Likewise, the need to develop a structured solution to the situation was evident.
