The study aimed to demonstrate the progress in the application by justice operators of the intercultural justice approach in the Peruvian Amazon, particularly in the province of Bagua; as well as to identify the challenges and pending challenges at the jurisdictional level. The methodology applied was qualitative, with analysis of documentary and casuistic sources, from a systematic, hermeneutic and critical perspective. The study concludes that, although this approach has been formally implemented in the administration of justice through specialized instances, these do not yet have the expertise and capacity building to face the complexity and peculiarity of applying the law in a philosophical, cultural, anthropological and sociological context that is different from ordinary justice.
