To function in today’s world, the management of skills of the highest level is preponderant; Among them are research skills, which allow further development of other skills; These competences are generated as part of the educational training at the basic and professional level. This research aims to describe the research skills that are developed in the person in basic level educational processes. The methodology in which it has been prosecuted is that of three steps of systematic literature reviews, starting with planning, continuing with the exhaustive review of the literature and finally with the preparation and presentation of the corresponding report. As a result, it has been found that investigative skills are more fully developed at the level of professional training in pre and postgraduate, while at the level of basic education they are still incipient and are developed on a smaller scale. It can be concluded that at the level of basic education, the development of strategies that allow the adequate formation of investigative competences is still lacking, since it is the most propitious period to cement their formation and subsequent development in other formative stages.
