The objective is to determine the influence of family functioning and family communication on resilience in adolescents from an educational institution in Tumbes. The design is non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive – correlational and the sample is non-probabilistic (n: 326 adolescents). The FACES III Family Cohesion and Adaptability Assessment Scale, the Family Communication Scale (FCS) and the Wagnild, G. and Young, H Resilience Scale (ER) were administered. Multiple linear regression analysis was used using statistical software SPSS V25, in addition to the Path Analysis interdependency flowchart through Amos V24 statistical software. Resulting from the regression between Family Functionality and Resilience, its probability of obtaining a criticism is as great as 3.184 in an absolute value that is less than 0.001. That is, the weight of the Family Functionality regression in the prediction of resilience is significantly related to p = .001; the regression between Family Communication and Resilience maintains a probability of obtaining a criticism that is as great as 6.013 in an absolute value that is less than 0.001, concluding that both the family functionality and communication variables influence the resilience variable in the adolescents surveyed.
