Over the years, the state is focusing on obtaining good results as part of the development of the country, within this we have to obtain good results as part of a public institution, we must take into account that prospective planning is part of said process since the direction that must be taken into account in order to achieve these results, in a time interval, but in this case we are talking about short periods of regional and local governments that fulfill their period of governance in four years of management, where citizens they expect promises that must be fulfilled within that time frame. For this reason, the purpose of the following investigation is to investigate, through the review, the prospective planning carried out by the public institutions of the state to obtain results, carrying out a review of 20 articles as a reference indexed to various databases, as is Scopus, Scielo and Science Direct. Therefore, prospective planning is of the utmost importance in results-based management as it helps in meeting the objectives that are held as management in a given period of time.
