This research article aims to explain the importance of social responsibility in basic education. Methodologically, it was carried out in a systematic review, using the meta-analysis technique around the variable under study, in databases such as scopus, and web of science, or others; where scientific studies immersed in social responsibility are identified, delimiting them under inclusion criteria research articles published in scientific journals, complete texts, and in basic education. The main findings showed that the promotion of social responsibility is important because it allows strengthening values, greater real commitment to the common good, having a more inclusive, sustainable and relevant society that contributes to shaping social reality, it is a potential component to enhance child development; foster an environment where common interests prevail and where individual ideas, feelings and differences are respected; improves the living conditions of society, much more supportive, responsible and participatory; prevent antisocial behaviors and improve social welfare; and finally, it stands out that he achieves a good academic performance. In this way, it is concluded that social responsibility requires permanent training of educators on awareness, for this reason it is urged to recognize how important and transversal it is; having, must be evaluated to be included as a formative competence of the person at all levels of teaching in basic education where students are formed for a socially responsible future.
