The objective of this review article was to demonstrate that the family school overcomes emotional grief in cases of children with intellectual disabilities. From the constructivist approach, an applied scope methodology was used, with a quantitative approach and a pre-experimental design. , is a study carried out at CEBE No. 01 Chimbote, it was found that the family school is an effective tool to overcome emotional grief in cases of children with intellectual disabilities, it was carried out with a sample of 13 parents of children’s families 3 and 4 years old with intellectual disabilities. Parents completed a questionnaire before and after participating in the family school. The results indicated indicating a high statistical significance with 95% in the improvement of emotional grief, with a t-value = 11.448 and a p-value < .001, indicating a high statistical significance in the improvement of emotional grief. In conclusion, family school is a valuable tool that can help parents overcome emotional grief and build more positive relationships with their children with intellectual disabilities.
