This study focuses on telemedicine as a transformative tool in the Peruvian health system, highlighting its crucial role in improving the accessibility and quality of healthcare. Adopting a qualitative approach and grounded in Grounded Theory, an exhaustive analysis of 50 scientific publications was conducted, highlighting both the advances and challenges of telemedicine within the current Peruvian regulations. The findings underscore the effectiveness of telemedicine in providing essential services such as teleconsultation and telemonitoring, facilitating access to medical care in remote areas and reducing costs for patients and providers. However, the research also identifies significant barriers, such as insufficient technological infrastructure and the need for medical staff training, as well as the urgency of developing public policies and budget allocations that fully support the integration of telemedicine into the health system. The conclusions emphasize the importance of moving towards greater massification and accessibility of telemedicine, which requires a coordinated and strategic effort by all stakeholders to overcome existing obstacles and maximize the potential of this modality in the future of healthcare in Peru.
