The present work carried out a Systematic Review of the Literature to determine how research on managerial leadership is being developed in the context of educational management and the impact that this topic is generating. The methodology applied was PRISMA, the same one that structured the information collection. In that sense, establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria in Scopus allowed me to identify 965 articles, of which 26 were selected for research. Regarding the years of publication of the selected research, this covers between the years 2018-2023, where a growing interest in these documents was observed, highlighting nine publications in 2023. Likewise, the United States leads in contributions, followed by China and the United Kingdom, consolidating a panorama of research in countries considered powers; on the other hand, the most recurrent keyword was ‘leadership’, denoting its centrality in the discussions. It was concluded that from the analysis the directive leadership is emerging as an essential driver for the development of educational management. The figure of leaders and leadership emerges as a recurring theme, highlighting their positive influence.
