One of the greatest concerns of society and of the regulatory entities of the educational sector is to highlight the good performance, efficiency and development in the teaching school, mobilizing its professional pedagogical competences and the development of the competences of its students, which constitutes the main pillar for the improvement of the quality of the educational service. This research aims to investigate studies related to the competencies that determine teaching performance, systematizing the scientific knowledge published in articles in indexed journals on teaching performance during the period 2018 to 2021. The research is based on a mixed approach; the methodology used is the systematic review, hermeneutic method, retrospective bibliometric type. The documentary study is based on a sample of 20 scientific articles selected and located in six high-impact databases such as DIALNET, SCIELO, SCOPUS and REDALYC, which are chronologically comprised between the years 2018 to 2021, so it can be perform a strictly advanced search. Meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. It is concluded that the teacher’s skills are the basis of their pedagogical work in the classroom, the structure of the teacher is then a profile that promotes the impediment of the development of their students in their social context. These competencies indicate that the teacher needs to have knowledge (know), possess (know how to do) and possess attitudes (know how to be). The management of these three elements will depend on your ability to carry out the optimal learning of your students.
