Having a solid educational system is a main requirement for a country to achieve development, therefore, school management is a fundamental tool, however, in Latin America education is at a regular level within basic education, that during the last two decades strategies have been applied to improve the educational quality of the region, in this sense, the objective was set to analyze the development of school management in the educational institutions of basic education in Peru. The applied methodology included the descriptive level, based on the systematic review through the PRISMA method, using information search engines such as: Scielo, Dialnet, Redalyc, Ciencia latina, Researchgate, Elsevier, Google academic, considering articles and papers, whose years of consultation included between 2019 and 2023. 100 bibliographic sources were consulted, of which only 11 were used for the development of the article and the respective discussions, which were chosen according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. It is concluded that the school management developed in basic education institutions is not efficient, and lacks the implementation of educational tools that allow teachers to have training sessions, in order to contribute to the sustainable learning of students.
