The main objective of the review work was to disseminate existing knowledge about environmental awareness in basic education students in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. To achieve this, the bibliographic review methodology was applied, which involved the identification, review, selection and inclusion of previous works related to environmental awareness in indexed databases. During this process, 59 investigations were identified, of which 26 works were included because they specifically addressed the problem of environmental awareness in basic education. Within these investigations it was observed that the only way to address global environmental problems is through environmental education, only then can better conditions be created for a harmonious life between human beings and nature. Likewise, it was evident that environmental awareness is integrated by its dimensions: cognitive, affective, conative and active, based on a higher index of considerations in research, that is, 10 of 26 articles consider it due to an educational nature. Consequently, post-pandemic human behavior must focus more on caring for the environment from a human environmental conscience.
