The objective of this article was to evaluate the design and application of public policies. In addition, it presented as design the literature review in that it was reviewed and analyzed the content of the information of the selected articles after the search in the scientific databases of Scielo, Proquest and Web of Science, application of the selection criteria and determination of the 31 indexed articles developed in English and Spanish during the period 2019-2023. Meanwhile, the scientific evidence of the design and implementation of public policies has allowed to deduce that the implementation and evaluation of these policies are important due to their role in the development of the locality, so it requires the coordinated and organized work of various competent authorities and citizenship in general.
