The objective of this research was to determine the relationship that exists between organizational culture and work motivation in the staff of a public institution in Metropolitan Lima. The research was basic, quantitative, with a cross-sectional non-experimental design and level (descriptive-correlational). The sample was made up of 37 workers from a public ministry in Lima. The results showed a relationship between the organizational culture variable and motivation (Rho 0.891. p<0.05), concluding that, as there is an adequate organizational culture, the staff of a public institution will be better motivated in the work activities they carry out. regarding the dimensions of the organizational culture variable, as there is adequate involvement and adaptation on the part of the workers towards the institution (Rho 0.818), (Rho 0.913). and also on the part of the institution to demonstrate consistency and integrity in its rules and principles, with a well-defined mission (Rho 0.891), (Rho 0.690), which will result in adequate work motivation on the part of the staff of a public institution in Lima.
