The objective of the research was to analyze how the circular economy leads to a sustainable city in a district of the Lima Metropolitan Region, 2023. To this end, a methodology of qualitative approach was used, of the basic type and phenomenological design, the information was obtained through interviews and as an instrument interview form were used, which were applied to specialists related to the subject and representatives of civil society. The results obtained indicated the lack of awareness campaigns on the benefits of the circular economy, the lack of public policies for reuse and recycling, the lack of investment in emerging sectors and the need to strengthen infrastructure for waste management and renewable energy production. Concluding that the circular economy, despite its potential to improve the sustainability of cities, has faced challenges in its implementation, such as dependence on traditional economic activities and lack of investment in emerging sectors, the transition to this model requires a comprehensive and coordinated implementation and a shift towards responsible consumption to lengthen the life cycle of raw materials and reduce waste.
