The objective of this research was to determine the level of relationship between the emotional state and the academic performance of secondary education students of a public Educational Institution in the Huánuco region. The methodology used a research with a quantitative approach, causal correlational design, of a transectional nature. The population was made up of 380 students, with a sample of 100 students, to whom the instrument (Bar-On ICE Inventory) was applied; through data analysis it was possible to affirm that there is a correlation between the emotional state and the academic performance in high school students of an Educational Institution in the Huánuco 2023 Region. The results demonstrate the significant influence of the emotional state on academic performance. The general data model was adapted based on the R-squared index which demonstrated the influence of the independent variable on academic performance and its dimensions: knowledge, ability, attitudes. It is concluded that there is a causal correlation of the emotional state in the academic performance of students.
