The objective of the study was to analyze the reasons why there is a high rate of violence against women in the province of Alto Amazonas 2021–2022. The type of research is a cross-sectional descriptive level with a qualitative approach. The study setting was in the Prosecutor’s Office, headquarters of the Public Ministry assigned to the tax district of Alto Amazonas – PERU. The participants were professionals versed in law. The results show that the causes of a high rate of violence against women are the effects of alcohol, substance abuse, having experienced situations of violence in childhood, gender inequality, cultural and social norms, economic factors, education. and awareness, mental health problems, Inadequate Legal Structures and Policies. The research concludes that the high rate of violence against women is due to social factors, substance abuse, having experienced situations of violence in their childhood, low level of education, factors, legal structures and inadequate policies.
