The research aimed to analyze emotional intelligence (EI) in the learning of children under six years of age of a public educational institution in the province of Huaura, department of Lima. It was carried out in the light of the Interpretative-Naturalistic paradigm and with the qualitative approach. The design that led the study was the Phenomenological, descriptive level and type of study basic. The method that guided the research was the inductive and the technique of the in-depth interview was applied through the instrument: interview guide. The informants who formed a heterogeneous group were: two teachers of initial education, a director of the institution, a psychologist and a specialist, all of them knowledgeable and experienced in EI and learning in preschools. The data obtained were processed using the qualitative software: Atlas.ti through which codes, categories and subcategories were identified, data interpretation and discussion were carried out through triangulation with previous studies and theoretical perspectives. According to the results, EI is an essential and dynamic factor in the development of social skills, emotional self-control and social interactions in children under the age of six years of the public educational institution located in an area of less socio-economic development. It is concluded that the children who develop EI properly are those who improve their learning in the areas of Mathematics, Communication, Social Personnel and Science and Technology and the educational institution provides a safe environment, good coexistence, emotional self-regulation from the perspective of the trainers, respect for the rhythms of learning and creates the foundation for children to learn accurately and effectively.
