The objective of this article was to conduct a comprehensive examination of citizen security in Latin America. A documentary bibliographic methodology was used to collect relevant information and evaluate significant conceptual judgments related to the topic. The review was developed through the critical analysis of several publications in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus and Scielo databases, recognized for their impact on the global scientific community. The study helped to identify the influence of the factors involved and their importance in the care of the population. The results provided an overview of the level of systematization of existing publications on this topic in the aforementioned databases.
