The general objective of the research was to propose an academic management model according to the ISO 21001: 2018 standard to improve educational quality at the National Autonomous University of Alto Amazonas 2021. The research was applied in a non-experimental, quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive-purpose design. The population and sample consisted of 3 managers, 14 teachers and 115 students. The technique was the survey and the questionnaire as an instrument. In conclusion, academic management was characterized by, 66.7% perceive that strategic management, comprehensive training and management results are located in the group “In process”, that is, that management is fulfilled between 25-75% of what programmed. Institutional support management is “Inefficient”, “In process” and “Efficient” at 33.3%, respectively. The critical points that prevent academic management from being effective, 49.5% perceive that academic management is in “In process” with a tendency to be “Inefficient” in 25.7%. Only 24.8% consider it to be “Efficient”. The academic management model according to the ISO 21001: 2018 standard is valid, according to the experts. The academic management model according to the ISO 21001: 2018 standard improves educational quality at the National Autonomous University of Alto Amazonas – 2021, according to the evaluation of experts.
