The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the characteristics of students’ emotional intelligence and determine the relationship with academic performance. The topic was relevant because it allowed us to know which tools were used to achieve better learning results and promote the emotional component during distance education due to the confinement caused by the presence of the pandemic. The research was a qualitative approach to review the literature related to the term emotional intelligence during remote teaching. Information was collected from the Scopus, Scielo and Qpro databases.
