The systematic review article study the abstraction and interpretation of urban and riverside edges in the existing scientific literature, from 2010 to 2025, uses the PRISMA method, the review synthesizes findings from ten scientific articles, structuring them through a construct of studies of multiple dimensions that includes the Physical-Environmental, Socio-Cultural, Historical-Temporal, Economic-Political and Technological dimensions. The final products determine that these interface spaces are dynamic constituencies, whose difficulty is expressed in constant tensions such as conservation versus development and inclusion versus exclusion. The final conclusion of the review is that overcoming the disciplinary and methodological divide is crucial to addressing the complicated challenges of managing these spaces. A future research memento that promotes the use of mixed methodologies, the realization of longitudinal importance and greater consideration in the Latin American environment is recommended.
