The objective of the research is to identify and inspect the best scientific evidence regarding the decriminalization of mercy killing and the right to a dignified death, carrying it out in the Scopus, Scielo, Redalyc, Dialnet, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect databases for free. and in Spanish of the last 6 years. The method used is the exploration and review of scientific production, filtering the terms: decriminalization, dignified death, euthanasia, dignity, autonomy and fundamental right, eliminating articles that are not in Spanish, that have been transmitted in 2016 or before, and that are not are available for free download. The design used is cross-sectional and descriptive in scope. In the results, the importance of rights was evidenced, where one of them is to decide on death when there is a terminal illness in which there is no hope of recovery and the responsibility of the State that enable suitable, effective and safe mechanisms to die. with dignity and thus decriminalize mercy killing to ensure that health specialists intervene effectively ending the lives of terminally ill patients.
